Martin Mocker
MIT CISR Research Affiliate, and Professor of Information Systems at ESB Business School, Reutlingen University, Germany
Martin Mocker is a professor of Information Systems at ESB Business School, Reutlingen University, Germany and a Research Affiliate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His teaching and research focus on the digital transformations of large, traditional companies aiming to stay competitive in an increasingly digital economy.

Together with Jeanne W. Ross and Cynthia M. Beath, Martin has co-authored the book “Designed for Digital: How to Architect Your Business for Sustained Success” published by MIT Press in September 2019. He has also been named as one of “20 digital transformation leaders to follow in 2020” by The Enterprisers Project, a collaboration between Harvard Business Review and technology company Red Hat.

Martin holds a doctoral degree from the University of Muenster and a degree in computer science from the University of Dortmund, Germany.

Leslie Owens
Executive Director and MIT Sloan Senior Lecturer
MIT CISR
Leslie Owens is Executive Director and MIT Sloan Senior Lecturer at the MIT Sloan School’s Center for Information Systems Research where she helps define sponsorship models; supervises sponsor-defined student projects for T-Lab, CISR’s MIT Sloan Action Learning course; defines communications strategy to optimize the impact of CISR research; designs and hosts CISR sponsor event programs; and leads staff development efforts. She works with other CISR leaders to provide CISR’s strategic direction.

Leslie joins MIT CISR from Forrester Research where she was a Principal Analyst, managing a team of Analysts and including responsibility for leading research projects, delivering research and consulting services to clients, and speaking at major client events.

Conrad Smits
Head of Global Services and Solutions Delivery, Executive Vice President
Philips
Conrad leads the services and solutions delivery transformation of Royal Philips, a position he has held since 2017. He brings a unique blend and depth of knowledge of Philips to his role, coupled with success in growing and changing healthcare technology and consumer businesses alike, including Heineken, The Coca-Cola Company and Groupe Danone. He started his Philips career in 2002 as business leader of Philips Oral Health Care, followed by positions in Philips Healthcare leading the MRI Division, and next the Diagnostic Ultrasound Division. In 2014, he became Chief Market Leader for the Philips Consumer Sector, and moved to Philips Head of Commerce in 2015, responsible for Philips commercial performance management and capabilities development.

Conrad holds a Masters in Economic Sciences from Erasmus University in the Netherlands. He has lived and worked in the Netherlands, UK, US, Turkey and France, and now lives with his family in Boston, Massachusetts.
