DESCRIPTION
As we enter this year’s flu season in the midst of a global pandemic, addressing vaccine preventable illnesses has become more important than ever. Influenza, along with pneumonia, is the 7th leading cause of death in Canada and it’s the leading cause of death amongst vaccine preventable diseases. Influenza and pneumonia are also some of the top reasons why people visit Emergency Departments, accounting for approximately 12,200 hospitalizations and 3,500 deaths every year.
