Obesity is a complex health issue stemming from a combination of environmental and individual factors such as physical inactivity, dietary patterns, medication usage, genetics, education, the abundance of food and many more. Obesity is critical to any society’s overall growth and well-being as it results in poorer mental health outcomes, work impairment and reduced quality of life. At the workplace, obesity is associated with absenteeism, depleting productivity, unemployment and early retirement. Creating awareness about the ill-effects of obesity has become a pressing priority to combat this demon. In light of this, ETHRWorld, in partnership with Johnson & Johnson, has crafted a roundtable to brainstorm intervention strategy to prevent or reduce obesity and sedentary work culture amongst the workforce and appraise best practices on employee health and wellness.
